Web Worthwhiles: Photo by Tone

I haven’t done one of these in a while, so here’s a quick “Web Worthwhile”.

I don’t really remember how I found photographer Tone’s website, but I’m glad I did. In addition to working with some of the top up and coming artists like 88-Keys and Melo-X, Tone also photographs a number of events, and always seems to really capture the moment. He’s not just taking pictures at a party, he’s documenting a social movement.

Perhaps his creativity best comes across though in the portraits, more specifically in the settings/backdrops he chooses. Tone places his subjects in places that are just as interesting as they are, but rather than taking attention away from the subject (as you might assume this would) these places work to make the subjects more dynamic. Like this picture (which I’ve already posted) of Melo-X in a locker.

Just dropped by to see what’s up over here. Usually I find the black background to be played-out and misused in the blogosphere. Your blog’s new look is incredibly crisp and professional. Props. And those blue Adidas Sambas are tight as a credit loan.

hahahaha, I may just have to add that line to my arsenal.

Yeah, I was a bit nervous about the black background because a LOT of people use it, but it’s hard to make anything pop with my err, limited, knowledge of HTML (okay, by limited I mean non-existent). I did put a lot of thought into it though so I’m glad you like it.

    Thanks for coming through!
