in Love

A still photograph from Everynone’s experimental short film, “Words”

In life, there are simple truths and emotions that are beyond words; and despite my sometimes overzealous philosophical tendencies I have come to accept this statement as a fact. You know those moments I’m talking about: that feeling of waking up naked next to a beautiful person that you care deeply for, the feeling of warmth when you sip hot chocolate after sledding for three hours at 4 in the morning, losing track of time and space doing something you love – the moments that remind you just how simple life really is.

Everynone is the film-making duo of Will Hoffman and Daniel Mercadante, and they seem to know better than most that these little moments that are nearly impossible to capture are one of the defining aspects of Art, which seeks to capture what words cannot describe through many other methods. Their experimental short films seek to do justice to these moments, and do a pretty damn good job. The first video below, “Words,” was created for Radiolab, WNYC‘s incredible arts podcast. I encourage you to dig through Everynone’s site – they are two incredible artists who deserve far more attention than they currently have.
