Cool Hunting (or How I Learned to Stop Working and Procrastinate)

While the rest of the world is gushing over Kanye’s movie (and we’ll get to that soon enough, I’m sure) here’s a round-up of the most penguinest, iglooish, ice cold coolness available to you this week. Shouts to ChangeTheThought and Wooster Collective for the links.

First on the list is what I think is easily the iciest stumble I made this weekend. Miss Bugs is running point on a new wave of street art, known as cut outs or fade outs, these pieces blend in with their environment for an entirely new way of bending this broken reality.

Frank Chimero is a bad ass illustrator (and blogger). He won the 2010 ADC Young Gun award — here’s an idea of why (click here for more)

One of my absolute favorite visual artists Tone, has posted a handful of new albums on his website, including this one from his recent trip to Mexico. Tone’s photography matches his personality, humble and down-to-earth, but with a crisp eye for what matters. Check out his attention to texture and color in these photos.

Last on the list is a video I came across (again on ChangeTheThought) from Eran Hilleli. The short film called “Between Bears” won the prize for best animation at the Vimeo Film Festival, and I think you’ll see why shortly.
