Josh Smith & The Concert G’s have sent word that their debut album The Reach EP is set to drop on October 3rd.  The band’s been working on this release for the past few months and it shows. It was recorded in Dreamland Recording Studios (same place that The Hold Steady, Herbie Hancock and a whole lot of people worth listening to have recorded) under the direction of Jerry Marotta (whose worked with Paul McCartney and Ani Difranco among others). Reach sounds like New Orlean’s French Quarter had a playdate with good ol’ fashion funkiness, and instead of staying home and playing video games they took a field trip to Brooklyn and learned how to rap.
