Random Notes From College: The Food Edition

In lieu of today’s Monday Music Mention (one coming tomorrow though!)… With the fall semester well underway at most colleges and universities, students around the country are beginning to adjust (or readjust) to college life. I, on the other hand, having just graduated find myself with more than enough time to do nothing. Last night I went through a whole lot of my old notebooks, and came across some gems from my freshman year at the University of Michigan that I’d like to offer as advice for today’s college student.

Thoughts on College Food (real notes I took during class):

  • The food sucks. The beer sucks, too. But people seem very willing to give the later away for free.
  • The gyro, specifically the chicken gyro, is a highly underrated meal option and deserves a more prominent role in American collegiate society.
  • The food sucks.
  • My personal appreciation for real eggs has soared recently and shows no signs of crashing.
  • I have never craved my own shitty cooking so much in my life — oh the feasts I would make if I had a kitchen of my own.
  • The food sucks.

Have ye any sage wisdom for the young ones?  Have any biting sarcasm left over from you college days? Let us know in the comments section.
